Vet Science students learned all about bandages this week! To "wrap up" our learning, students got to try bandaging a leg wound on a dog. The students enjoyed this hands-on opportunity. Special thank you to the Montfort Vet Clinic for donating the vet supplies for this lab!
The Iowa-Grant Ag Department is excited to announce the addition of three Tower Garden growing systems! These Tower Gardens were funded by the Elmer G. Biddick Charitable Foundation and Iowa-Grant Educational Foundation. The Tower Garden systems are an advanced form of hydroponics called aeroponics. Aeroponics is the process of growing plants in an air or mist environment rather than soil. It uses water, liquid nutrients and a soilless growing medium to quickly and efficiently grow colorful, tasty, and nutritious produce. The Ag Department is now working to grow several varieties of lettuce and microgreens that can be utilized at the high school in the lunch program!

SENIOR OFFICER SPOTLIGHT!
"These five senior officers will always have a special place in my heart! Four years ago, when I was hired to be the Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor at Iowa-Grant High School, these five freshmen walked into my classroom eager to learn about agriculture. Over the years, they have taken advantage of all the opportunities FFA has to offer on the local, state, and national levels. I could not be prouder of their accomplishments and growth over the past four years. I want to wish all of them the best of luck in their future endeavors!" - Mrs. Hammerly
Varsity and JV Boys Basketball games have been rescheduled for tonight (2/24). Varsity will play at Riverdale at 6:00 PM and JV will play at Barneveld at 5:00 PM.
Go Panthers!!!
FFA Officer Spotlight #9
"I am an FFA Officer because I want to stay connected to agriculture and inspire others to do the same. Being an officer has provided me with leadership and communication along with experience working with a team. I love being an officer because it is a great way to facilitate opportunities for others! There is a home for everyone in FFA! You don't need to live on a farm or work with animals to be involved. If you are at all interested in FFA, I encourage you to join!" - Julia S.
FFA Officer Spotlight #8
"I am an FFA officer because I believe the role FFA plays in individuals' lives is incomparable. I love being a leader and encouraging others to put themselves out there and to be open to trying new things. Being an officer allows me to be as involved as possible and has allowed me to develop both professionally and personally. I’m so thankful for both Mrs. Hammerly and Ms. Wackerlin. The success of the chapter would not be possible without either of them. Their love and passion for agriculture continues to fuel each and every one of their students on the daily." - Alexis T-B.
