Meet Oscar Mayer! This is Elyse L.’s Iowa County fair show pig. She has been busy caring for and spoiling this pig all summer! He is so sweet, gentle and loves being scratched behind the ears and on the belly. Keep up the great work, Elyse! Good luck at the Iowa County Fair!

Baylee L. was visited on her family farm last week by Mrs. Hammerly. Baylee was able to show Mrs. Hammerly their family dairy farm that milks 650+ cows. Baylee has been busy this summer caring for her two steers that will be shown at the Iowa County Fair and Wisconsin State Fair. Another wonderful farm visit happened Monday at the Brokopp Family Farm! Bode has been working on his family farm ever since he could walk. He has a strong passion for farming and enjoys milking, feeding, and caring for his family’s herd of dairy cattle. On their farm, they milk 70+ cows, sell eggs from their chickens, and raise their dairy show steers. Here is Bode with his show steer, Bandit, that he will be exhibiting at the Iowa County Fair. Good luck at the fair, Bode!

These smiling faces had a great week learning a few essential life skills in baking, fractions and cleaning up. I hope their families enjoyed their efforts this week. The aromas were enjoyed by many staff in the building, too.

Summer school? Summer fun!! Thank you to the Stuart and Meghan Brokopp family, Jen and Jerry Volenec and family and Dave Cook from Cook's Christmas Tree farm for letting our small crew of 3rd and 4th grade students visit life on your farm. We had so much fun and appreciate the time you took to show us the wonderful agriculture in our neighborhood. The smiles were endless.
