Earlier this week students in grades 3rd and younger were able to listen to Cobb-Eden Fire Fighters talk about fire safety. Students were about to see teachers dress in fire gear, and see inside the fire truck. A big thank you to the Cobb-Eden Fire Dept. for spending the morning with us.

The Conference Cross Country Meet has been moved from Thursday, October 12th to tomorrow - Wednesday, October 11th. This includes time changes:

Fourteen Iowa-Grant High School Choir students are at UW-Platteville's Choral Festival today! They are joined by almost 300 other students from area schools as well as UWP's own choir students for a day of singing. Their concert tonight will be open to the public at the Brodbeck Concert Hall. Tickets are $5 per person! Come and enjoy an evening of fantastic music!

Thank you doesn't seem to say enough for all of those that participated in the IGHS Mock Accident today. We had a great turn out of our local heroes, attentive students, and great student actors. Thank you Livingston, Cobb-Eden, Rewey, Linden, and Montfort Fire Departments, Livingston and Cobb First Response, Montfort EMS, Highland EMS, Keith Hurlbert from Iowa County Emergency Management, Doug Bartow - Grant County Chief Deputy Coroner, Iowa County Sheriff Department, Iowa County Farm Bureau, Ritchies, Bob Haase, our student actors, Deb Hoffman for her amazing makeup skills, and Donita Pilling for her portrayal of a grieving parent, our student body and staff. Though the weather wasn't ideal, we had another fantastic mock accident this time regarding paying attention to farm equipment and where they may be turning. Thank you again to everyone involved.

The Panther Packs program has been sending backpacks of food home with students who may be experiencing food shortages at home to help them during the weekends. We are currently assisting 12 families and are pleased we are able to make a difference. We are seeking donations of fruit cups to help us continue to serve our families. If you are able to donate, please drop donations off at the IGEMS office. Thank you!

The Iowa-Grant LEO Club sponsored the Annual Homecoming Poster Contest at IGEMS and the winner of the PK - 2 grade level was Mrs. Peat's class, the 3-5 grade level was Mrs. Zajieck's class, and the 6-8 grade was Mrs. Prohaska's class. Congrats to all the winners and a huge thank you to all the classes who participated. The posters were hung in the high school during Homecoming week and were viewed by many people. Way to go Panthers!!
Thank you Mrs. Magsig for bringing the IGHS staff breakfast yesterday to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month. Staff were treated to Chilaquiles and Tamales Canarios, both dishes were delicious.
