Iowa-Grant International Club

The Iowa-Grant International Club strives to promote cultural diversity and provide our students opportunities to learn from and interact with people from other countries.

Our focus is welcoming and supporting exchange students who are hosted by district families by providing them opportunities to share their culture and make connections with students and staff at I-G. We hope to continue strengthening the relationships formed with our friends from the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica, whom we hosted in January 2020.  The ultimate goal is for students to participate in travel experiences to Spanish speaking countries, which includes the exchange program with Costa Rica and trips coordinated through Interact Travel.

Some of our past activities include: Pumpkin carving contests, holiday discussions and food tasting, sharing movies and music, celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and sharing resources, a virtual exchange through the Costa Rica Fricka program, virtual meetings with former exchange students, and a Cinco de Mayo celebration.  There is also information available to any student interested in becoming an exchange student (spending a semester or year of high school abroad) or those looking for semester abroad options during their university studies.

All students are welcomed!
